Lisa is a veteran athlete having started her athletic career as a collegiate swimmer at West Point. She has since competed in triathlons, Spartan and obstacle course races, trail races, and marathons. Her philosophy is that one is never too old to set a personal record–she ran a sub three hour marathon at age 48. Lisa was a ranked runner for her age group in the Boston Marathon and has placed in the top spots in marathons throughout the US and Canada.
Lisa lives in Middletown, RI and owns Bridge to Fitness. She works with clients of all ages and abilities and loves to see them achieve a mindset to move, workout, and improve themselves in sport and in life. For Lisa, coaching is her life’s passion and she is a strong advocate and leader for women in sports. Her focus is to teach girls confidence, leadership, teamwork, and mindfulness while encouraging them to be true to themselves and be all they can be for each other. She has a passion to teach others how to train and to believe in themselves and that there is no limit to what they can do. As the local high school women’s lacrosse coach, Lisa led the team to win the 2019 State Championships (the first-ever state championship for this team) and was named Rhode Island Female Coach of the Year in 2020.
Lisa is a certified yoga teacher and is the creator of an ongoing Yoga series, “Yoga For Sailors,” that features sailing-specific yoga flows to address the sport-specific needs of competitive sailors. When she is not coaching, teaching, and training, she enjoys the scenic vistas of Newport, Rhode Island while running with her Portuguese Water Dog, Louie. Lisa’s six children are her pride and joy: Ashley, Teddy, Field, Anthony, Michael, and Isabella.
